She found herself staring into the eyes of a stranger whose sad, worn eyes held her gaze as if afraid to let go of the vague familiarity in it.

She smiled. The stranger smiled back.

And that was all it took...

She realized she was staring at herself in the mirror.

We all need to go through dark times because it is in those, that we learn to appreciate, yearn and run after the light.

We all need to cry because it is in the drowning of tears that we learn to swim.

We all need to be wounded because it is in them that we experience healing.

We all need to lose friends because it is in losing them that we find ourself.

Missing. Broken memories of dependence. The songs. The guitar. The worship leader. Simply just waiting. Time will piece things back.

I'm not good with goodbyes. I hate the empty, drowning feeling. I hate crying. I hate the headache that comes after. I hate hating the part of being the one left. I hate adjusting to the absence. I hate missing the routine. I hate the self-pity. I hate the silence. I hate the fact that I had resolved never to get attached and find out I never really learned my lesson. I hate the lull in the day spent wondering what if. I hate digging memories and hoping it would fill the emptiness. I hate feeling miserable. I hate goodbyes.

Without its whiskers, even the wildest tiger loses it sense of balance.
